Backbone Connectivity -
Their connections to multiple backbone providers,
and peering with many carriers on a regional and international basis,
allows us to easily reach remote networks even in the case where
a NAP may be unhealthy, or when a specific backbone connection is
down.
Our two backbone providers of choice currently
are:
MZIMA - Providing high-performance route-optimized
bandwidth to the Internet, using its proprietary distributed metro
NAP architecture and nationwide backbone network. By building metropolitan
SONET rings connected to multiple Tier-1 backbone providers, and
by having direct private peering with numerous broadband ISPs, backbones
and content providers, Mzima offers the fastest, most reliable Internet
connectivity currently available.
SAVVIS - operating an integrated global IP and
transport network that delivers IP VPN, Voice Services, and Internet
solutions for enterprises and carriers alike. The SAVVIS IP network
spans 105 cities in 47 countries, encompassing the U.S., Canada,
Latin America, Europe, The Middle East, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
We get our IP transit from 2 cisco 12008 GSR's
which are connected via multiple gigabit fiber uplinks to our distribution
switches (2 cisco 2948G-L3's). Each cabinet is prewired and connected
to our main distribution cabinet so it's plug and play. Each cabinet
has it's own switch, we prefer a layer 2 switch in each cabinet.
All of our servers are hooked up to APC remote reboot ports in the
event that they lockup for any reason.
