If I build it, they will come, right?

Wrong! Having a new website on the net is exciting, but it's only part of the process. You've got to get people to actually find your site. How are they going to do that?

Most people find the service/product/information they're looking for by searching in their favorite search engine. That's one of the ways in which you should plan to get visitors, as well. And not just any old visitor, but highly targeted visitors that are searching for exactly what you've got to offer. They're out there! You just need to figure out how to make your site visible to them.

So, how does one go about making a site visible to those highly targeted visitors? The answer is to ensure that the site is built "Search Engine Friendly". In comes Search Engine Optimization, or SEO...

What IS SEO? Simply put, it's the art/science of "optimizing" the pages in your site so that they rank well in the search engines. There are certain techniques, which we describe in detail below, that will guide you into optimizing your sites' pages so that you'll garner those highly targeted visitors mentioned above.

It's no secret, and it's not rocket science. Anyone can do it with the proper knowledge. Below, you'll find a goodly portion of that knowledge and how best to apply it.
